rebrading is time consuming

I’ve found that re-branding, done right, is very time consuming! So this site has been really neglected and my other site, Gainesville360.com has been really busy.

Seems I have been getting more and more multi-media projects which has allowed me to keep expanding my equipment, education, and skill set. But I am reminded how much I love simple, beautiful photography. Simple and beautiful does not mean easy, it just looks easy. Here is a recent head shot that a client asked me to do and it was so much fun to do!

On the multi-media side, I’ve started to do more and more voice overs - fun, but also time consuming and a bit strange to hear your own voice!

…been busy with Gainesville360.com which also has a blog. January usually really kicks off with a bang for real estate - in the sense that a lot of people want to put their homes on the market so they can have it sold by summer to move ect… Been also working on a few fun commercial projects that I hope to share when they are completed… in the mean time, here are a videos I produced for Gainesville360.com to look at.

Modernism at Risk

I photographed the Modernism at Risk exhibit for the University of Florida’s Department of Interior Design. The pictures exhibit a wonderfully designed School in Sarasota that had recently been demolished, despite the outcry and efforts of many. The photographs were wonderful; great dynamic range, excellent composition - it’s now all that’s left…

USMarkers

This was fun promotional video I did for USMarkers. I am really happy with how it all came together. Marc Schwarz did a great job on the voice over.

I’ve been busy with projects, shoots and a rebranding so I haven’t been real good about updating my blog recently. But I have a lot of stuff in store for the new branding, I am very excited about it so stay tuned!

Headshots

I really enjoy doing headshots for clients.

I am not sure a lot of my real estate clients know I provide this service as most of them think of me as the “Real Estate” photographer who does 360’s. So I was very happy when Margaret Posey called me for a new headshot. Her prior headshots were done in a studio with the typical 3 light setup, which I can do as I have a portable studio that I can setup anywhere, but she wanted something more natural. So she came over to my office and we did this shot in front of my bamboo. I used the filtered sun coming through the bamboo as my hairlight and a silver and pink reflector was my main light.

It took us three attempts, taking breaks in between the sun ducking into the clouds and the heat, to get the shot I was looking for.

Sawbuck revisited

You may recall I photographed and posted image and virtual scenes of this house last month. Since the house is so unique, and amazing in so many respects, it was a perfect candidate for my Video Fusion product. I was also working with the idea of incorporating voice over in my product line. Bob Welch did an amazing job with the script and voice over, it all came together very organically and magically.
